Joshua Duhl is a director of Research for IDC's Content Management and Rich Media service. Duhl's research covers content management, digital asset management (DAM), digital rights management (DRM), authoring software, XML, and other rich media software technologies. Duhl's roughly 20 years of combined experience in marketing, software engineering, consulting, and entrepreneurship bring a synthesis of perspectives to his research and client engagements. Duhl was selected by IDC's customers as one of three 2003 Global Research Advisory Council Analysts of the Year. For the 10 years prior to joining IDC in 2003, Duhl was president of Stillpoint Consulting, an independent software marketing consulting firm providing strategic guidance and tactical marketing services. He covered DAM systems, object and relational databases, object technologies, application servers, and development tools. Duhl has written and presented extensively on a wide range of technologies, markets, industry trends and issues. Prior to forming Stillpoint, Duhl held marketing and engineering positions at ONTOS, Ontologic, Cambridge Robotics, and Prime Computer. He earned a BS in computer science from Haverford College.
