Nasty IE7 bug

While IE7 seems to be a decent upgrade (except for the UI, brrr)—it seems at least one pretty nasty rendering bug has made it into the final release. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles the updates for their new browser, will we mainly see ‘security patches’ or also fixes to the rendering engine?

I wish you wouldn’t launch links in a separate window. That sort of functionality is up to the user, who is perfectly capable of launching a link in another tab or window if he wants to.

It looks like they removed the “target” attribute from the link. :) (Let’s hear it for quick responses!)

Paul D: We heard you. It was a small piece of code running in the background that opened all links in a new window which was not supposed to be there. Thanks for the notice and don’t hesitate to point out new ones…

PS: We still open some links in a new window, such as those in the footer and the feed links which lead to Google Reader.
